Founded in 1976, Tobar Industries was originally located in Mountain View, California.

            In 2000, we combined our operations into our current 47,000 square foot facility in San Jose.  Through cost reduction initiatives, establishing JIT systems and providing design improvements to take cost out of manufacturing, it allowed us to help many of our customers through some of the recent difficult economic periods.

            In 2002, we received an opportunity from a Fortune 500 Biomedical customer to redesign one of their existing products and create their documentation package.  We were able to modify their design while meeting their interface requirements and thus, reduce manufacturing costs that saved that customer over $350,000 in the 1st year.   Now that same unit’s savings, even though much modified since then, are well into the multi-million dollar range.

            We strive toward that mission each day.  We have highly qualified manufacturing engineers to provide design support to our customers, most often inside a customers’ current design CAD software.  This affords our customers the opportunity to use that valued manufacturing experience making parts the most cost effective to manufacture, thus reducing their price and giving a competitive market advantage to their products.
